Pre-Pastoral Installation Service
On September 23, 2018 , the Christian Love Baptist Church officially held the pre-pastoral installation service for the Reverend Brandon Keith Washington. Hundreds of people were in attendance to witness the ceremony, including CLBC members, the Mount Neboh Baptist Church, Memorial Baptist Church, family and friends. Praise and worship was led by the anointed levite, Elder Toby Carson and then the CLBC First Family processed in after a beautiful praise dance by the combined ministries Saved by Grace and the Shabach Praise Dancers.
The service was conducted by Pastor Brandon’s mentor and spiritual father, Reverend Dr. Johnnie M. Green of Mt. Neboh Baptist Church. Reverend Green’s message resonated throughout the service as he reminded the congregation that Christian Love Baptist Church was “installing a new leader but still serving an old God.” Reverend Greene compared Pastor Brandon’s new tenure to that of Joshua who took up the charge after the Lord took Moses. Similarly, Pastor Brandon is picking up the mantle of the late Reverend Ronald B. Christian. The statement of purpose for the occasion indirectly referenced the connection between the legacy of Reverend Ronald B. Christian and the desire for a new, equally vibrant, faithful and loving pastor—one after God’s own heart. The statement sang the story of a familiar Psalm of David noting, “Our testimony at CLBC is we would have fainted unless we had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. To God be the Glory, our goodness (Pastor Brandon) is here.”
The Christian Love Baptist Church was charged by the Reverend Dr. Joe Albert Bush Walker Memorial Baptist Church, who reminded the congregation that the Lord chose one man to Pastor CLBC. Reverend Bush further charged the leaders of CLBC to loose Pastor Brandon to God’s vision, to love him even in difficult times and to pray for him and the first family. In addition, Pastor Brandon was charged by his mother and Pastor, the Reverend Dr. Renee Francis Washington Gardner of Memorial Baptist Church in an emotionally-moving and spiritually-charged directive to love the people of God unconditionally.
The evening ended with the illustrious First Lady Marie Washington expressing appreciation to the CLBC family and friends who have supported the first family since their arrival in May 2018. With overwhelming joy, Pastor Brandon echoed his wife’s sentiments, accepted the charge as Pastor of the Christian Love Baptist Church and acknowledged those in attendance who supported, mentored and guided him through his ordination and installation. Pastor Brandon closed the ceremony with a powerful prayer of thanksgiving and expectation, and he gave the priestly benediction found in Jude 1—Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. To God be all the glory!
May God bless the new Pastor of CLBC, the Reverend Brandon Keith Washington, the first family and the Christian Love Baptist Church now and always.
